Safest Way does not reveal where people are walking or direct everyone onto a single fixed route. Routes vary depending on destination, time and multiple environmental factors.

In practice, our safer walk suggestions are routes that are better lit, and have more CCTV coverage. The app is designed to help individuals make more informed decisions about their journeys, not to expose or track other people’s movements.
